Canadian rockers Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne will have a hard time ever forgetting their wedding anniversary. The Nickelback frontman and punk-pop princess—collectively known as "Chavril"—reportedly tied the knot on Canada Day ( July 1).

According to the CBC, Kroeger, 38, and Lavigne, 28, wed in the south of France in front of 50 guests at the Chateau La Napoule. The wedding reportedly had a red and white theme—a nod to their Canadian roots, no doubt.

In a 2012 interview with People magazine, Kroeger—who hails from Hanna, Alberta—said that July 1 was a special day for the couple.

“We met while recording music in March. But we started dating July 1, so I'll let the math speak for itself there,” he said. “We think it's very cool that our anniversary will always be on Canada Day. We can't wait to start our life together. We're very happy.”

This is the first marriage for Kroeger, and the second for Lavigne. The Napanee, Ontario-born singer was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley for three years before divorcing in 2009.
