In anticipation of the season five premiere of Game of Thrones, a Vancouver restaurant will host an event based on the popular HBO television series and George R. R. Martin fantasy novels.

The “Winter is Coming” pop-up cocktail bar will take over Gastown’s Bambudda (99 Powell Street) on March 10 starting at 7 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in Game of Thrones-inspired costume, and prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

The event will feature cocktails by guest bartender Matt Grippo of San Francisco’s Blackbird Bar. Westeros-approved libations ($11 each or three for $30) include the creamy “Milk of the Poppy”, spirit-forward “Mad King”, scorched “Mother of Dragons”, and ruby-tinged “Red Wedding”.

A snack menu created by Bambudda executive chef Curtis Luk will accompany the cocktails.

There are no tickets or entrance fee to the event; however, guests are encouraged to make a reservation—perhaps by crow or raven mail—at the restaurant.

Game of Thrones season five will premiere April 12.
