We double-dare you to attend Cinematheque's 24-Hour Movie Marathon

If you found that watching the full length of the Oscars was an endurance test, why not consider scheduling a full 24 hours of watching stuff that's actually interesting?

Yes, cineathletes, it's time to flex those eye muscles because the Cinematheque's 24-Hour Movie Marathon is back.

The film lineup, which consists of 15 titles spanning all genres and eras, remains a highly guarded secret. However, thanks to our ninja skills, we have obtained a cryptic hint: tick tock.

While you're trying to figure out what that means, here are the details.

The whole cinematic shebang runs from Saturday (February 28, 10 a.m.) to Sunday (March 1, 10 a.m.) for your viewing pleasure. Tickets are $40, and the first 100 ticket buyers will receive a survival kit, which includes numerous goodies.

There'll also be special guests, treats, and prizes to add to the festivities.

Snack breaks will be offered with delectables from Candy Meister, Cartems Donuterie, and Harlan Fairbanks. (Yum!) To help keep you awake, there'll be complimentary coffee on hand from Saltspring Coffee, as well as caffeinated drinks from Pacific Bottleworks available. A light breakfast will be provided on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, nearby Lebanese eatery Nuba (1206 Seymour Street) will be offering 10 percent off to ticket holders.

Unlike most screenings, you're allowed to bring your own food, and packing a lunch or whatnot is recommended.

Speaking of which, some other things to consider taking along: comfortable clothes (onesies seem apropos), a blanket, a pillow, oral-hygiene paraphernalia, deodorant, water bottles, teddybears...

(Since seating is limited, securing a spot online at the Cinematheque website is recommended.)

      Think you can survive it?
