      CONCERTS

      American actor and singer Leighton Meester (pictured above) tours in support of debut album Heartstrings at the Rio Theatre.

      At the Commodore Ballroom, reggae-rock band Rebelution tours in support of latest release Count Me In.

      Brooklyn-bases synth-pop duo Leisure Cruise takes the stage at the Media Club with guests Young Liars.

      San Francisco blues-soul band Tommy Castro & the Painkillers hits the Electric Owl.

      At the Biltmore Cabaret, the Swingin' Sixties Burlesque Party features Hot Pants, Miss Fitt, Carole Brunette, Burgundy Brixx, the Purrrfessor, and DJ Evilyn 13.

       

      KIDS' STUFF

      The Stanley Park Pavilion hosts an event at which kids can dissect sterilized owl pellets and examine real owl specimens.

       

      SPORTS

      The Vancouver Canucks take on the St. Louis Blues in National Hockey League action at Rogers Arena.

       

      MUSIC

      The Vancouver Recital Society presents the Hungarian-born classical pianist Sir Andras Schiff at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts.

      At the Orpheum Theatre, Gordon Gerrard conducts violinist Akiko Suwanai, koto player Yuriko Nariya, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of Japanese music and artists.

       

      DANCE

      Mozaico Flamenco Dance Theatre and New Works present a flamenco-dance show at the Scotiabank Dance Centre.

       

      THEATRE

      Carousel Theatre for Young People presents the world premiere of Shakespearean Rhapsody at the Waterfront Theatre.

       

      MOVIES

      The Vancity Theatre hosts a screening of One Chance, the British film about tenor Paul Potts, who performed Puccini's Nessun Dorma on the first episode of Britain's Got Talent in 2007.
