A celebration of life for actor and director Paul-Gui Crepeau, who died at age 60 on January 19, will be held at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 East Cordova) on March 9 at 8 p.m. (doors 7:30 p.m.).

Crepeau, who studied at the University of Victoria in the 1980s, founded Fend Players and helped build the Station Street Arts Centre in Vancouver in the late 1980s and 1990s. He also ran the film-catering company Reel Appetites.

At the celebration of life, numerous local actors, including John Cassini, will be speaking or appearing in scenes from plays directed by Crepeau.

The event will also feature music by Jim Byrnes and Art Norris.

One of the movies Crepeau made while living in Saskatchewan, where he was attending the University of Regina in a master's degree program, will be shown.
