The unstealable bike could be available later this year

The Yerka Project is the name given to an attempt to create a bicycle that can't be stolen.

Conceived by three Chilean students, this bicycle allows users to adjust the frame to convert it into a lock.

The pole attached to the seat is removed and used as a bar to secure the bike.

Presto! Those nasty thieves would then be foiled because they would have to break the frame to free the bicycle.

Even the dumbest among them knows there's not much use in taking a two-wheeler with a broken frame, hence it's been called unstealable.

On Wednesday (March 4), the masterminds behind the Yerka Project will launch an Indiegogo campaign with a goal of selling the bike by this September.
