The 11th annual CelticFest Vancouver takes place March 6 to 17 at various venues across Vancouver.

The 12-day all-ages event features music, dance, and family fun at concert halls, pubs, clubs, and city streets. CelticFest Vancouver is Western Canada’s largest Celtic celebration and offers the best of traditional and contemporary Celtic culture.

Highlights of this year’s festival include festival opener Alan Doyle at the Vogue Theatre on March 6. The Great Big Sea frontman will kick off his North American tour with music from his recently released second solo album, So Let’s Go.

The following night at the Imperial will see a tribute to iconic band, The Pogues, by C.R. Avery, Dustin Bentall, Pat Chessell, Babe Gurr, Rockland Moran, Natalye Vivian, Shane’s Teeth, Vagabond, and the Whiskeydicks, hosted by Aaron Chapman of the Town Pants.

Also performing during the festival is the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir at Christ Church Cathedral on March 13, Fásta at the Imperial on March 14, and Delhi 2 Dublin at the Imperial on March 15.

Enjoy two sessions of The Belmont Whisky Tastings, one for beginners and one for connoisseurs, on March 11. Check out live entertainment, food booths, workshops, and a street market when the Celtic Village takes over Granville Street downtown on March 14 and 15.

Tickets to events and a full schedule can be found on the CelticFest Vancouver website.
