Weasel riding a woodpecker: wildlife photo of the century?

This incredible photo sure looks like a fake, but a gazillion articles online say it's the real thing.
Taken by U.K. photographer Martin Le-May, the image depicts a weasel hitching a ride on a green woodpecker.
However, the creatures weren't carpooling to the airport; the rodent was looking for lunch.
Le-May told BBC News: "I heard a distressed squawking noise and feared the worst.
"I soon realised it was a woodpecker with some kind of small mammal on its back."

The weasel was trying to kill and eat the woodpecker. The woodpecker got away. But still a great pic!
