Ellen DeGeneres named Oscar host: Will One Million Moms launch a protest?

It's official: Ellen DeGeneres has been named the host of the 86th Academy Awards to be held on March 2, 2014.

After disastrous attempts to use hosts to attract different demographics such as Seth MacFarlane and Anne Hathaway with James Franco, DeGeneres returns for her second time as host. She received an Emmy nomination for her 2007 Oscar stint.

Although DeGeneres publicly came out as a lesbian in 1997, in 2012, Conservative Christian group One Million Moms launched an attempt to get JC Penny to drop her as their spokesperson. Their attempt failed, as JC Penny stood steadfast in their position.

Will One Million Moms try to get the Oscars to drop DeGeneres as host? If their previous campaigns serve as any indication of how things will play out, such as the gay Archie issue selling out, it'll just fuel her popularity.

      Happy Pride, One Million Moms!

I though she was a very good host. When she went into the audience at the 2007 awards, camera in hand and started taking pics of Steven Spielberg and others while asking for advise was too funny. A highlight for sure.

Gee the fact that she is an out lesbian is yesterday's news.
We just want a great host and an Academy Awards that that doesn't seem like a mini series-a bad mini series.

BTW-"One Million Moms" has about 50,000 members but whose counting....?
