CBGB trailer gets it all wrong, probably

Guaranteed to make you furious if you care enough to watch, here's the first trailer for upcoming New York punk biopic, CBGB.

Some passing thoughts, besides, "Oh look at that, it's the Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins as Iggy Pop!":

Both Alan Rickman (playing CBGB owner Hilly Kristal) and Rupert Grint (as the Dead Boys' Cheetah Chrome) have graduated to the Bowery from Hogwarts.

Cheetah Chrome himself has a cameo in the film, but it looks like he's the only real life survivor to get involved in the project.

Richard Hell has already grouched about CBGB  to the Straight's Brian Lynch, but come on—there must be a perverse region of his brain that enjoys being played by somebody from As the World Turns (handsome young Evan Alex Cole, namely.)

Ahna O'Reilly plays Mary Harron in CBGB. Harron herself directed the last generation's ill-advised ode to New York's gutter-art world, I Shot Andy Warhol. Will this cumulative biopic algorithm cause some sort of portal to open somewhere? Will it have a guest list?

Is it me, or does ending this thing with a fake Police playing a note-perfect version of "Roxanne" just seem, way, way off?
