The Friday lineup is well underway at the Squamish Valley Music Festival, as the crowds fill the field in front of the main stage, the Chief towering in the background.

The soulful soundtrack of the Chantrelles had crowd members dancing just moments after the gates opened over on the Market Square stage. On the main stage, Vancouver indie-rock favourites Said the Whale had the audience cheering as they kicked off an evening of performances.

Dragonette then had crowd members waving in unison after they took to the stage, launching into their hit “Pick Up the Phone”.

Main stage acts Dan Mangan, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and Vampire Weekend are set to perform tonight, while other stages feature plenty of other talent, including Jurassic 5 and Young the Giant.
