Listen to Wikipedia edits in real time

There's something about auditory representations of data that is incredibly fascinating and pleasing to the ear. So I was thrilled to stumble across a website that turns edits to the world's largest collaborative encyclopedia into music.

Built by Stephen LaPorte and Mahmoud Hashemi, Listen to Wikipedia uses the data from Wikipedia's recent changes feed to create a minimalist soundscape, turning additions to site entries into bells and deletions into strings.

Pitch is determined by how large or small the edit was. New users are indicated by a warm synth sound.

And if you get bored with the sounds of Wikipedia, you can always Listen to Bitcoin.
