Russell Brand drops by supervised drug-injection site Insite during his Vancouver visit

Russell Brand brought his Messiah Complex tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre this weekend.

But he also managed to find the time to visit Vancouver's supervised-inection site, which he called the city's "crown jewell" on his Twitter feed.

Brand, a former addict who was arrested 12 times, has been an outspoken advocate of abstinence-based drug programs in the U.K.

Like the folks at Insite, Brand thinks addiction must be viewed as a health issue.

Perhaps that's why he referred to Insite cofounder Liz Evans as an "inspiration" in his tweet to his 6,890,533 followers.

Russell always sort of rubbed me the wrong way. But I always thought he was a pretty thoughtful and intelligent guy. Pretty damn funny too...

I Think he is an insperation to people who fall through the cracks and are pushed to one side because they dont fit the critera of wats considered the norm.Instead of spending money on Skate parks were i live do somthing for real people with issues like Drug Addiction etc that really need help and would make a differece in Brighton Russell Brand a legend.
