Image makers mock Barack Obama's desire to attack Syria
The image above went viral over the Internet yesterday after President Barack Obama said he'll seek congressional approval to attack Syria.
That's because Obama and the Sunni Muslim extremists in al-Qaeda both oppose Syrian regime, which is led by Alawite Bashar al-Assad.
The Alawites, who are predomently Shia, account for 12 percent of Syria's population, according to middleast.about.com. They, like other followers of the Shia faith, believe that the Prophet Mohammed's heir was his son-in-law, Ali bin Abu Talib, which sets them apart from Sunni Muslims.
