We're not sure how often B.C.'s minister of justice rides the 99 B-Line, but Suzanne Anton is publicly supporting a "yes" vote in the transit (and Pattullo Bridge and bike lanes) referendum.

Today (March 30), the B.C. Liberal MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview sent the following message out in her email newsletter:

I’m voting “Yes” in the 2015 Metro Vancouver Transportation and Transit Plebiscite and encourage the residents of Vancouver-Fraserview to find out about the benefits a "Yes" vote will bring to the community.

Transportation challenges in Vancouver-Fraserview include the recent suggestion of loss of service to Champlain Mall and the need for better connectivity to River District. Whether we are in private vehicles or public transportation, we all benefit from good investment in transportation infrastructure. Voting "Yes” will make a difference.

Transportation and Transit Plebiscite ballots are currently being sent out by Elections BC. If you are a registered voter and living in Metro Vancouver, you can vote from now until May 29, 2015. If you have not received your ballot by March 27, 2015, please contact Elections BC.

      More information is available here.

Meanwhile, the City of Vancouver spammed its public art email list today with a message from the "yes" side.

"These listserves are used primarily to send out arts and culture related information, but occasionally we are asked to send out other City notifications like the one below," the email states up top.

May 15 is the last day for voters to request a ballot package.

Thankfully, her endorsement will put the final knife into the "YES" side. I wish she would just go away as she is so very harmful when gets involved with grown up things.

Oh, please, enough about the Patullo Bridge... it will proceed irrespective of this plebiscite. Furthemore, it will be tolled whether we vote yes or no.

      Mayors' Plan

      Mar 30, 2015 at 3:28pm

The GOOD things about this referendum ( plebiscite ) :
      1. Maybe Clark, politically savvy as she may be, will realize that a massive NO! means someting more than 'I dont like taxes'. It means NO! to the unbridled development of single form 'sustainable' glass towered transit village, developer friendly neighbourhood marring 'visions' that not only require but demand excessive growth in our region.

      2. It may have caused a lot more people than would otherwise have actually read the Mayors' plan.

Some of those will realize it's objective is to turn the road network into a 'rent a road' funding tool. That's right, try and USE the road your taxes have built for 40 years, and you will have to pay "mobility pricing". Add that to the Translink fuel tax, the carbon tax, and the federal road tax and drivers pay far more than anyone else to run a service they likelly don't use.

      NO.
