Don’t quit your day job to be an artist, Justin Trudeau

If Justin Trudeau flames out as Liberal leader, his postpolitical career could head in many directions.

But perhaps art isn't one of them.

Today (March 30), the Liberal Party of Canada sent an email to supporters with the subject line "Gorgeous".

Inside, however, wasn't a photo of a daffodil or glacial lake, or even a Trudeau selfie. Just this "Original artwork by Justin Trudeau".

      "Canadian Liberty" by Justin Trudeau.

The drawing is titled (groan) "Canadian Liberty", and the "work in progress" depicts the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which opened to controversy last year in Winnipeg.

It's apparently a "limited edition reward" for donors to the party's latest fundraising campaign.

Another reward is a T-shirt labelling the wearer as "Part of the change".

      Greetings my fellow Stephen,
Dashing the artistic aspirations of a future leader is highly inadvisable. Think of how the world might have changed had another young man been encourage to paint and not politic – his name of course? Herr Adolf Hitler.
      See you on Instagram.
      Your faithful servant,
      Stephen.

The Liberal brain trust have checked out. Trudeau's tenure is going to continue past embarrassing and land somewhere between heartbreaking and disgust. As a former Liberal defender I have no sympathy for the foolish decisions they make. The machine is broken. Vote NDP.

How much do I have to donate to get one of the Dauphin's used tissues?

They say Nero fiddled while Rome burned… at least we know what the Dauphin will be doing if we put him in charge : )
