Sven Baertschi has a cup of coffee with the Vancouver Canucks

In the world of sports, a cup of coffee is slang for a minor leaguer spending a brief stint in the majors.

By that definition, Sven Baertschi may have just had his java last night in a 5-4 loss in Winnipeg.

In just over 10 minutes of ice time, the former Portland Winter Hawks star took two penalites, one shot on net, blocked two others, and was minus 1 on the night.

He was filling in for Ronalds Kenins on a line with Bo Horvat and Jannik Hansen.

According to the Canucks' lineup for Monday (April 6), Kenins will be back on the ice at home against the Kings. Nowhere does Baertschi's name appear, which suggests he might be a healthy scratch.

The Canucks acquired Baertschi from Calgary just before this year's NHL trade deadline in exchange for a second-round draft pick.
