      On April 18, 8 pm, Vancouver New Music presents Voices & Strings at the Orpheum Annex (823 Seymour).

      In the concert, Linda Bouchard, Peggy Lee, and Mary Margaret O'Hara explore the essence of the song from its origins to modern, creative assemblages.

      Voices & Strings, conducted by Giorgio Magnanensi, features performances of Linda Catlin Smith's Les fleurs anciennes, Jay Schwartz's Music for Orchestra III, Linda Bouchard's Réfraction, and Peggy Lee and Mary Margaret O'Hara's 2 Cans and a String Thing.

      All pieces will be performed by a string ensemble composed of Vancouver musicians.

      Tickets for Voices & Strings are $35 for adults ($15 for students) and can be bought online in advance.
