Have you ever wanted to have a 3-D printed bust made of yourself?

You'll get the opportunity to do so if you attend Centre A's 16th anniversary fundraising gala and art auction.

Local 3-D printing expert John Biehler will be scanning attendees and 3-D printering pros from Tinkerine will be making 3-D prints (by donation).

That's in addition to an evening of food and art.

The live art auction, featuring auctioneer Hank Bull (Centre A's founding director), will include pieces donated by Vancouver artists Liz Magor, Wayne Ngan, Maraya, Gu Xiong, Lorna Brown, Michael Love, Keith Langergraber, Karen Zalamea, Glenn Lewis, Navin Rawanchaikul, and more.

To get a head start on planning what to bid for, an auction preview will be available at Centre A (229 East Georgia Street) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 15 and 16.

To add to the festivities, special edition Centre A growlers will feature artwork by Howie Tsui.

Meanwhile, Biltmore Cabaret's Guilty Pleasures DJs will provide the beats.

Tickets cost $125 and include membership, a catered meal, and two drinks. It's important to note that tickets are only available for purchase in advance.

It all takes place at CBC Studio 700 (700 Hamilton Street) from 7 to 10 p.m. (doors 6 p.m.) on April 18.

Proceeds benefit exhibitions and programming at Centre A, the Vancouver International Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, which is dedicated to participating in the role of contemporary art in the relationship between Canada and Asia.
