TV screen goes blank before Madonna performance on Jimmy Fallon show

It's not every day that Madonna does late-night TV.

As fans of David Letterman know, you can expect the unexpected whenever Madge makes one of her rare appearances.

But last night, I didn't anticipate that the screen would go blank for an extended period in my Vancouver home after she showed up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Things started in a typical manner with Madonna showing up in gangsta attire.

Then she and Fallon did one of those "Girls Gone Wild" dances together.

"There's no point in living if you can't dance," Madonna noted.

Fallon seemed somewhat in awe of her whereas she seemed bored with him.

After promoting her new album, Rebel Heart, there was a commercial break.

Some sort of performance was supposed to follow, but all I saw was a black screen for the next 10 or 12 minutes.

      Every other channel was working.

Was there a gremlin in my TV set that didn't want her to appear? Or did she kick up a fuss and have the entire performance deleted on the West Coast of North America?

I have no idea. Anyone with the answer can write a comment below.

In the meantime, here's a video of Madonna performing "Holiday" with Fallon and the Roots, which I found on YouTube this morning.
