On May 1, 8 pm, Early Music Vancouver presents a concert of Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the Chan Shun Concert Hall (6265 Crescent, UBC).
In this concert, the Portland Baroque Orchestra and artistic director and violinist Monica Huggett will perform Vivaldi's best-known work.
Four Seasons is composed of four concertos, with the texture of each piece mirroring the corresponding season.
In a departure from contemporary practice, this presentation will not use a conductor. In accordance with 18th-century convention, Huggett will lead from the violin.
