Now that the City of Vancouver has closed its eight ballot drop-off and information locations for people who don't know how to use a mailbox, Elections B.C. is taking over the in-person transit-referendum services racket.

Today (April 13), the provincial electoral agency opened nine plebiscite service offices in Metro Vancouver.

An Elections B.C. news release states:

At a Plebiscite Service Office, Metro Vancouver voters who need services in person or who may have challenges receiving mail can register to vote or update their voter registration, receive information on voting in the plebiscite, ask for a voting package until May 15, and drop off their completed ballot package before the close of voting at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015.

The offices, which are open during mall hours and closed on Sundays and holidays, are located at the following shopping centres:

      • Capilano Mall (935 Marine Drive, North Vancouver)
      • Central City Mall (10153 King George Boulevard, Surrey)
      • Chinatown Plaza (180 Keefer Street, Vancouver)
      • City Square Shopping Centre (555 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver)
      • Coquitlam Centre (2929 Barnet Highway, Coquitlam)
      • Haney Place Mall (11900 Haney Place, Maple Ridge)
      • Lougheed Town Centre (9855 Austin Road, Burnaby)
      • Richmond Centre Mall (6551 No. 3 Road, Richmond)
      • Willowbrook Shopping Centre (19705 Fraser Highway, Langley)
