Although the Vancouver police have not officially identified the paparazzo they arrested for a hit-and-run incident with actor Ryan Reynolds, the Province newspaper has published an interview with the suspect.

A 52-year-old Richmond resident was arrested on April 12 as the driver of a car who allegedly hit Reynolds in the parking lot of the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Vancouver on April 10. Reynolds suffered minor injuries but was back on the set of Deadpool the following day.

The police recommended charges of intimidation.

The Province identified him as Rik Fedyck.

After Fedyck was released on April 13, he told the Province that Reynolds was not hit by a car and that any story in the media is false. He denied that there was any attempt to take photos.

He would not confirm if he was in the Shangri-La parking lot and said he would clarify his story later.

Fedyck has a history of disputes with celebrities.

In 2006, on the set of Blonde and Blonder, he claimed that he witnessed Denise Richards and Pamela Anderson having a dispute. After Richards started calling him names, he called Richards a "home-wrecker".  He claimed she pushed him and threw his two laptops computers over a third-floor balcony at the River Rock Casino. The computers hit two elderly women sitting below, prompting Richmond RCMP to investigate.

Fedyck filed a lawsuit in 2007 against Richards and Anderson for verbal and physical assault. The case was settled later that year.

In 2008, Fedyck contacted Vancouver police and claimed that Jennifer Aniston's bodyguard used racial slurs against his girlfriend and tried to provoke him into a fight. Aniston was filming Traveling in town at the time.

In 2010, actor Kellan Lutz, who was shooting the film Immortals in Montreal, claimed he was struck by a car driven by Fedyck. After a police investigation, the allegations did not result in any charges.
