Homeless in Vancouver: All hail the city's wacky weather!

Spring is going absolutely swimmingly here in Vancouver, B.C., let me tell you.

The torrential rain has let up but not 40 minutes ago West Broadway Avenue was a raging watercourse. An hour more and who knows how much of Fairview may have been washed downhill into the Kitsilano neighbourhood.

The glacier-fed stream that was West Broadway Avenue.

To top it off, with summer mere weeks away, winter chose the moment of floodiest confusion to launch a last-minute sneak attack: all at once the bucketing rain started ice-bucketing hail!

      Now that was really cold.

This was the sort of morning that almost guarantees we’ll be literally baking under achingly blue skies and blazing sunshine by 3 p.m. this afternoon.
