Manage your stress effectively

      Stress forms a daily part of all our lives, so it's highly doubtful to find anybody living in Vancouver without it. If I met somebody like that, I would be put in a state of stress.

      While we all know that a healthy lifestyle, sleep, and spending time with family alleviates stress, I thought there must be more to it.

      There's a lof of information on stress management all over the place but what's really solid and true was the advice given by the American Heart Association. It's suggested doing things like:

      * speaking positively to oneself.

      * replacing an "I can't" with "I can."

      * saying sorry when you make a mistake.

      * going for a walk.

      * taking a bath.

      * keeping a sense of humour.

      What I find really helps is talking it out with someone you work with or a friend. Either way, stay calm in times of stress.
