The neverending, convoluted and outlandish saga of Randy and Evi Quaid continues on—believe it or not—albeit in a different Canadian city.

Actor Randy Quaid appeared before Canada's Immigration and Refugee Board on May 19 in Montreal.

The board granted Randy Quaid release on a $10,000 bond from a Laval, Quebec, immigration detention centre.

He had been arrested in Montreal, where he had been living since February 2013, on May 14. An arrest warrant was issued for him in January 2013 after he missed an appointment for an IRB interview.

For those who may have either forgotten or not read about the ongoing drama, Randy and his wife Evi were arrested in Vancouver in 2010 on outstanding U.S. warrants. They had moved to Vancouver from California and claimed they were targets of "Hollywood star-whackers" who had killed other Hollywood stars (including David Carradine and Heath Ledger).

The troubled couple applied for refugee status in 2010.

Randy later withdrew his refugee claim and applied for permanent residency status, as Evi was granted Canadian citizenship in 2012 because her father was born in Canada.

However, Randy's immigration application was denied. The couple is facing U.S. burglary and misdemeanour charges for breaking into and vandalizing a Santa Barbara guest home they once owned.

While in Vancouver, the Quaids made a few bizarre films, videos, and public appearances.

Among them was the avant-garde, no-budget docudrama Star Whackers, which they screened a portion of at the Rio Theatre in 2011.

In February, the Quaids made a strange video involving sodomy addressed to Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Quaid appeared in the movies Brokeback Mountain, Independence Day, and National Lampoon's Vacation, and is the brother of actor Dennis Quaid, who also appeared in a bizarre video having a meltdown on set but it turned out to be a prank.
