      The Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art hosts a Haida musical performance by Terri-Lynn Williams-Davidson, Bill Henderson, and Claire Lawrence.

      New Orleans swamp group Quintron & Miss Pussycat take the stage at the Fox Cabaret with guests Nots.

      Tracy Moar and Darlene Ketchum perform at a benefit concert supporting midwives in Uganda and Nepal. Held at Redemption Church.

      The Mariachi Festival Canada features mariachis and traditional dancers from Mexico, the U.S., and Canada. Held at the Vogue Theatre.

      The Victoria B.C. Ska Society presents North American ska-punk band Streetlight Manifesto, with guests Dan Potthast and Sycamore Smith, at the Rickshaw Theatre.

      An empowering one-hour workout led by Goodlife Fitness raises funds for the Canadian Women's Foundation. Held at Robson Square.

      KIDS' STUFF

      Highlights of Ride the Wave include kids' entertainer Fred Penner and Canadian standup comedian Leland Klassen. Held at the Italian Cultural Centre.

      The Richmond Carvers 26th Annual Show is a juried show with entrants ranging from student to expert. Held at the Steveston Community Centre.

      DANCE

      Coastal City Ballet presents the world premiere of Cinderella at the Surrey Arts Centre.

      LITERARY EVENTS

      Author Janie Chang reads from her book Three Souls at the Vancouver Public Library Central Branch.

      Award-winning author Neil McKinnon reads from latest novel The Greatest Lover of Last Tuesday at the New Westminster Public Library.

      MUSIC

      145-member North Shore community performance group Broadway or Bust performs songs from hit Broadway musicals at the Kay Meek Centre.

      The Vancouver Peace Choir, the Eric Hamber Secondary Chamber Choir, and the New Westminster Secondary Chamber Choir perform choral music at the Queen's Avenue United Church.

      Vancouver’s Rainbow Concert Band presents a wide selection of songs to dance to and songs about dances. Held at the Cultch.

      Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir presents an evening concert devoted to youth choirs. Held at the Fraserview MB Church.

      The Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra performs music by Barber, Mahler, and Rimsky-Korsakov. Held at Shaughnessy Heights United Church.
