It's your last chance to have a say in planning a creative future for the West End.

For those who were unaware of the West End Art Plan, the proposed plan will supplement the West End Community Plan, which was approved of by the City of Vancouver in November 2013.

The West End Art Plan will ensure artists, residents, youth, and businesses are included in creating a future for the arts by exploring both social and economic benefits from the arts. It's being organized by WE Arts, a grassroots community group to ensure an arts presence and a sustainable creative economy in the West End.

According to WE Arts, approximately 4,100 out of 45,000 West End residents are employed in arts and culture.

Two public consultations, which included workshops and discussions hosted by arts advocate and choreographer Judith Marcuse, were already held in February and April.

The first two consultation sessions prioritized recommendations and have resulted in seven working groups or committees being created for arts markets, pop-up galleries, diversity and inclusion, arts venues, communications, youth activities, and laneways and studios.

The final session will be held on Sunday (May 31) from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Empire Landmark Hotel (1400 Robson Street).

Marcuse will once again facilitate the session with a focus on detetermining what the main achievable goals are.

It's free to attend and refreshments will be served.
