Heat wave to hit Vancouver on June 6

Although you wouldn't necessarily know it from the grey skys today, a multi-day heatwave is set to hit the Lower Mainland.

That's the latest news from our favourite weather personality Frankie MacDonald, who says the temperatures are set to rise in a major way on Saturday (June 6) and stay that way for at least three days.

Temperatures will rise to around 25 °C, although it may feel closer to 30 °C in the Fraser Valley. Oof!

MacDonald encourages residents to avoid wearing dark-coloured clothing, drink lots of water, and to limit outdoor activities while I encourage residents not to leave children or animals in vehicles and to please stop watering the sidewalks—they will not grow.

      Watch MacDonald's full forecast below.

Meanwhile, after the no-show of snow pack on local mountains this winter and after the driest May on record, my neighbours to the left and right of me continue to water their lawns not once, not twice, but three times a day. Can we please have some enforcement of the watering restrictions? Please? And can we please extend the watering restrictions to include not just lawns but flower gardens? Mr. Neighbour to the back of me has his drip hoses going 8 hrs. a day - no restrictions for him. Is it time for water metering?

If we weren't taking in 250k+ immigrants a year, we'd have plenty of land+water for every native born Canadian to have a garden and irrigation!
