Activists organize to stop slaughter of 10,000 pooches at Yulin Dog Meat Festival
The Oscar-winning documentary The Cove highlighted awareness about a bloody annual massacre of dolphins in the town of Taiji, Japan.
Now, activists have trained their sights on another senseless mass murder of animals.
Every solstice, the southern Chinese city of Yulin holds a Dog Meat Festival, where at least 10,000 canines are kept in tiny cages before being slaughtered for people's dinners.
The U.S.-based Duo Duo Animal Welfare Project, which was founded animal lover Andrea Gung, wants to convince residents of the city of seven million to cancel the festival. Gung and others are trying to spread the message that the provincial economy in Guangxi will improve if Yulin is transformed into a sanctuary for dogs and cats.

Convincing is not good enough for butchers, be present in yulin to stop and permanently shutdown all these slaughter houses . Look at those beautiful, innocent dogs and their eyes...they do feel the pain just like humans.

I personally have suffered DEEP pain and distress due to this upcoming barbaric slaughter of innocent animals; 2015 and MONSTERS are doing this to our wonderful animals, time for this planet to be eradicated from the universe; it needs toe good to be taken out to eradicate the bad as well.
