The Melvins' Buzzo gives Montage heck

King Buzzo has an opinion or two about that Kurt Cobain doc that you and your mama are losing your shit over, Montage of Heck.

“First off, people need to understand that 90 percent of Montage of Heck is bullshit,” writes the Melvins frontman and big time Shearing Pinx fan. “Total bullshit.”

Buzzo’s juicy takedown of the HBO doc stands in somewhat stark contrast to its 98 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but then again, Buzzo was there.  

“My band played with Nirvana at their last show,” he points out, in a sharply worded critique posted this weekend at The Talkhouse.

Buzzo punctures some of the widely-held beliefs about his old friend (“… there was absolutely nothing wrong with his stomach”) while also reminding readers that the major source of Heck’s Intel might be considered a little suspect.

“And then there’s Courtney,” he states, bluntly.

“A lot of what she says in this documentary doesn’t exactly jibe with things Kurt told me himself, but I suppose that’s not surprising when you consider history becomes elastic every time Courtney Love opens her mouth.”
