Pope Francis to make "unprecedented" call for a "revolution" on climate change

Vatican City is expected to release an extraordinary letter related to climate change later this week.

On Thursday (June 18), Pope Francis will publish the text of an encyclical—a letter that is sent to all bishops of the Roman Catholic Church—which states the world must act on resource inequality and the unchecked exploitation of our natural environment, the Guardian newspaper has reported.

The British newspaper doesn’t quote the document but describes the move as a “call for an ethical and economic revolution”.

“In an unprecedented encyclical on the subject of the environment, the pontiff is expected to argue that humanity’s exploitation of the planet’s resources has crossed the Earth’s natural boundaries, and that the world faces ruin without a revolution in hearts and minds,” it reads. “The much-anticipated message, which will be sent to the world’s 5,000 Catholic bishops, will be published online in five languages on Thursday and is expected to be the most radical statement yet from the outspoken pontiff.”

While Thursday’s announcement is expected to raise the volume of the Argentinian pontiff’s calls for action on climate change, it will not be the first time Pope Francis will have made a strong statement on the issue.

In 2014, for example, he linked environmental damage to the global financial system and warned the need for change is urgent.

“An economic system centred on the god of money needs to plunder nature to sustain the frenetic rhythm of consumption that is inherent to it,” Pope Francis said. “I think a question that we are not asking ourselves is: isn’t humanity committing suicide with this indiscriminate and tyrannical use of nature? Safeguard creation because, if we destroy it, it will destroy us. Never forget this.”

What? The Pope praying isn't enough? He has little faith in God.

      Must be a False Prophet.
