      CONCERTS

      French pop-jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimee performs with guitarists Michael Valeanu and Koran Agan, bassist Samuel Anning, and drummer Rajiv Jayaweera. Part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Held at Performance Works.

      Vancouver-based contemporary-jazz group Holly Burke and the Naturals headline at Blue Frog Studios.

      British death-metal band Bolt Thrower (pictured above), with guests Hellshock and Baptists, performs at the Rickshaw Theatre.

      Brooklyn-based fusion group Snarky Puppy performs as part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Held at the Vogue Theatre.

      French jazz pianist Benoit Delbecq performs with François Houle, Gordon Grdina, and Kenton Loewen. Part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Held at the Ironworks.

      Canadian pianist Paul Plimley, Stockholm bassist Joe Williamson, and American drummer Gerry Hemingway coheadline. Part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. Held at the Ironworks.

       

      BENEFITS

      Burnaby Lake pavilion hosts a Father's Day walk/run that raises money for prostate cancer.

      Highlights of Car Free Day Main Street include mini-festivals, community-supported stages with dozens of bands, multiple kids zones, and artisan markets. Held at Main Street, between Broadway and 30th.

      Car Free Day Commercial Drive showcases a roller disco, parading drummers, healing gardens, and DJs. Held at Commerical Drive, between Venables and Grandview.

      The Biltmore Cabaret hosts an evening of burlesque and comedy featuring April O'Peel, Burgundy Brixx, Chastity Twist, the Purrrfessor, and DJ Evilyn.

       

      LITERARY EVENTS

      Franci Louann hosts a Father's Day tribute event with poets Lara Varesi and Sho Wiley. Held at the Heritage Grill.
