This summer, small is beautiful on Grouse Mountain.

In addition to Grouse's annual summer activities, visitors can enjoy a variety of complimentary Small Wonders experiences dedicated to learning more about the mountain’s tiniest residents including honeybees, hummingbirds, salamanders, butterflies, dragonflies, bats, barn swallows, and pikas.

Visitors can take a walk through the Hive Bee Interpretive Centre to brush up on bee terminology and learn how honey is made; stroll through the beautiful Pollinator’s Garden, designed to attract bees, hummingbirds, and other pollinators; and hit the mountaintop trails for a scavenger hunt to try spotting every one of Grouse Mountain’s featured Small Wonders.

Younger visitors will adore Grouse Mountain’s friendly bee mascot (arriving in July), enjoy a photo opportunity in the Picture Yourself as a Butterfly interactive activity, watch Disneynature’s Wings of Life in the Theatre in the Sky, and take in the Small Wonders Gallery in the Chalet (arriving June 19) featuring fun facts about hummingbirds, pikas, bats, and more.

As a focal point of the Small Wonders experience, visitors aged 12 and over can book a Honeybee Hive Tour which offers a unique opportunity to understand bees by getting up close in a safe environment led by Grouse Mountain’s resident bee keeper.

Grouse Mountain’s Summer of Small Wonders runs now through October 12. For more information, please visit the Grouse Mountain website.
