      CONCERTS

      As part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, the Anita Eccleston Trio performs swing, soul, reggae, blues, and jazz music. Held at Granville Island.

      The Crab Park Canada Day Festival features music by  the Stingin' Hornets, Pernell Reichert Band, and the Rootabeggars.

      The Victoria B.C. Ska Society presents American fusion band the Slackers coheadlining with East Vancouver soul-garage band the Ballantynes. Held the Biltmore Cabaret.

      ET CETERA

      Canada Place's Canada Day festivities include a parade, fireworks, live music, and dance performances with popular acts including Hannah Georgas, Hairfarmers, and Watasun, and interactive zones featuring food carts, street hockey, an armed forces display, Salty’s Fun Zone, and a circus show.

      Granville Island celebrates Canada Day with an official ceremony, a bazaar with music and food from around the world, TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival concerts, dance performances, buskers, roving characters, bike decorating, maple-mural making, Canada Day crepes with maple syrup, and a Lobster Man cookout.

      In White Rock, Canada Day by the Bay includes family-friendly activities like live entertainment, face painting, balloon twisting, bouncy castles, sandcastle building, caricatures, and fireworks.

      At Canada Place, a fireworks party celebrates Canada Day with a private fireworks-viewing platform, a simulated aerial adventure, music by DJ Mike Circa, burgers and poutine by Vera's Burger Shack, and cold refreshments.

      KIDS' STUFF

      Highlights of Canada Day at Kitsilano Showboat include a kids yoga class, children's entertainer Max Tell, the Royal City Concert Band, and Bob Liley and the Sanctuary All Stars.

      THEATRE

      Bard in the Valley presents Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost at the Fort Langley National Historic Site of Canada.

      Broadway Across Canada presents Disney Presents the Lion King at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

      MOVIES

      The Cinematheque screens Gangs of Wasseypur, South Asian writer-director Anurag Kashyap's violent crime epic.
