      FRIDAY, JULY 3

      MOUSE: Deadmau5 headlines the first night of the FVDED in the Park at Holland Park in Surrey. The festival lineup also includes includes Tyler The Creator (above), Afrojack, Flosstradamus, the Chainsmokers, Danny Brown, Chuckie, Vic Mensa, Pete Tong, Claude VonStroke, Keys N Krates, TOKiMONSTA, Destructo, Stwo,Thugli, Haywyre, and Tommy Kruise.

      MOUND: the 2015 Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship (above) kicks off at Surrey's Softball City, with premier female athletes from around the world and across B.C. competing.

      MAHONES: the Georgia Straight presents Irish punk-rock pioneers the Mahones (above) at the Rickshaw, touring in support of latest album The Hunger and the Fight.

      MONDO: burlesque show and dance party at the Waldorf features performances by Frankie Faux (above), Melody Mangler, Carole Brunette, and Little Miss Risk.

      MANIC: the Georgia Straight presents Canadian punk band Gob (above) at the Imperial, touring in support of latest release Apt. 13, with guests the Isotopes and Youth Decay.

      MUSICAL: the Arts Club Theatre Company presents Godspell (above), Stephen Schwartz’s exuberant pop musical about Jesus and his apostles, at the Granville Island Stage.

      SATURDAY, JULY 4

      BANANA: coheadlining bill of Japanese noise-rock act Melt Banana (above) and American stoner-metal quartet Torche at the Biltmore Cabaret.

      BOZ: American soul-pop singer and guitarist Boz Scaggs (above) plays Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

      BOOGIE: local blues-rocker Rich Hope (above) performs as part of the TD Concerts at the Pier in White Rock, along with David Sinclair & Keith Bennett, and Good for Grapes.

      BEACH: Kokoro Dance celebrates the 20th anniversary of Wreck Beach Butoh (above) with a new dance that embraces the sand, water, and air.

      BOOM: the East Van Summer Jam at Strathcona Park features performances by the Boom Booms (above), Ab-Soul, Mayer Hawthorne, Kelela, Esta, Slow Jam Sundays, B.J. the Chicago Kid, Kinnie Starr, Star Captains, Chin Injeti, and the Lifetimes.

      SUNDAY, JULY 5

      ADSTOCK: youth-involved festival at Maple Ridge's Memorial Peacek Park features alternative music by the Brass Action (above), Unbeheld, the Still Spirits, and Vacant Eyes.

      ANNA & ELIZABETH: old-time vocals and instrumentals from West Virginia natives (above), accompanied by Seattle-based musician Eli West at St. James Hall.

      AQUATIC: Splashdown Waterpark (above) in Tsawwassen features body slides, a main pool, a ramp slide, a hot tub, a children's splash park, enclosed-pipe rides, and a picnic area.

      AMAZING: the Vancouver Comicon comic-book show takes place at Heritage Hall, featuring artists Douglas Wheatley (Star Wars: Dark Times), James Stevenson, and Beth Wagner.

      ACTION: soccer teams from the United States and Japan battle it out at the FIFA Women's World Cup final at B.C. Place.
