The politician who is first in the U.S. presidential line of succession is coming to Vancouver to cheer on his country's team in the final of the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, will be at B.C. Place on Sunday (July 5).

“We’re honored to be part of the Women’s World Cup Final,” the Bidens said in a statement, according to the Associated Press.

“Team USA has inspired millions around the globe — especially girls and other young athletes who know that the power of sports can change lives. The team is a source of pride and unity, and we can’t wait to see them represent the United States on the world stage. Let’s cheer the team on and bring the World Cup trophy home.”

Hopefully, the Bidens already have a hotel room.

The U.S. will meet defending champions Japan in the final.

The match starts at 4 p.m.

On Saturday (July 4), Germany and England will battle for third place in Edmonton.
