      The 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, hosted by Canada, came to an end on Sunday (July 5).

      At B.C. Place in Vancouver, USA defeated Japan 5-2 to win the trophy.

      53,341 fans, including U.S. VP Joe Biden, attended the match, which saw four U.S. goals in the first 16 minutes.

      England, which beat Canada in the quarterfinals, took third place in the competition.

      I'm surprised that this entire event didn't get far more columns in this newspaper because it has had such a positive impact on women, especially young women. It showed that women's team sports are exciting and competitive and deserve more support. But then of course this is a leftie journal and lefties are bad at sports.
