Dîner en Blanc, the fancy, outdoor dinner party modelled after a long-standing annual Parisian picnic of the same name, will return to Vancouver on Tuesday, August 25.

The number of tickets for the event has been increased by 1,000 since 2014, and those interested in having a chance at attending this year's event may now register for the waiting list.

Presented by The Social Concierge, the number of seats at the fourth-annual outdoor picnic is 4,500, raising the question of which outdoor venue might best suit the event.

The extravagant picnic will feature dinner, drinks, and live music and entertainment. Guests are required to dress in white from head to toe, while party fixtures and decorations will follow the same scheme.

The top-secret location of Dîner en Blanc is kept under wraps until just hours before the the dinner kicks off. Previous events have been held at David Lam Park and Jack Poole Plaza, and in False Creek outside Science World.

Tickets are highly sought-after and difficult to obtain unless you're a returning guest or are nominated by a returning guest for a chance to purchase a ticket.

If you don't fall into either of those categories, you can have a crack at attending this year's all-white spectacle by joining the waiting list, but don't hold your breath: last year's wait list topped out at 30,000 people.
