50 Cent is now a mad-as-fuck window shopper as he files for bankruptcy

Remember that “Window Shopper” video where 50 Cent is rolling through the streets of Monaco, laughing at all the folks who stand on the streets, mad as fuck, looking at all the shit they can’t buy?

Well it looks like the rapper known as Curtis Jackson is about to join the ranks of those on the outside of the Gucci store looking in.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that 50 Cent, whose breakout song “In Da Club” made him one of the biggest rap stars on the planet in the ’00s, has filed for bankruptcy. Jackson’s court papers, which were filed today in U.S. bankruptcy court in Hartford, Connecticut, listed assets of approximately $10 million, and debts of $50 million.

One day you’re swaggering through “Window Shopper”, laughing your ass off while rapping “The top feels so much better than the bottom.” The next you’re looking at a future where the song’s final lines—“Shit man, the store owner watching you/For something get stolen, stolen, stolen”—suddenly seem sadly prophetic.
