CBC News has reported that downcast city employees are returning this morning to the Manitoba works yard, where the flag is flying at half mast.

Yesterday, the city-owned facility was closed after a supervisor was murdered in Burnaby.

      The killer remains at large.

CKNW Radio says on its site that there are no police or security visible.

Police have scaled back their presence after swooping in on the yard and other city sites yesterday.

In a statement issued this morning, the City of Vancouver said that counseling and support is being made available to staff.

"Over the course of yesterday, following the tragic incident, precautionary security measures were put in place on the advice of VPD," the city said. "At this time, those measures are no longer necessary and the City is returning to normal operations."
