3:01 Squamish Festival Edition Pick Me Up: Mariachi El Bronx

    1 of 2 2 of 2

You know what's just around the corner? That would be theSquamish Valley Music Festival. We'll be counting down the next few of weeks by spotlighting the artists who'll be playing just up the Sea to Sky. And why are we celebrating a new band each day at 3:01?

      Well that's easy.

Let’s face it: 3 p.m. is the cruellest time of the workday. The morning latte has worn off, and the post-lunch crash has you staggering around like an extra from a George A. Romero flick. That’s why, each weekday at 3:01 p.m., we present you with a video hand-picked to kick-start your heart.

Today's offering: The questions come fast and furious as the video unfold for Mariachi El Bronx's "48 Roses".

Like how does a guy who looks likes that do so well with the ladies? Who shares a toothbrush? Are none of those chicks allowed out of their rooms, where, presumably, they'd discover they aren't alone in the apartment?

Does the woman in the dryer give him a hummer? Because it sure as hell looks like it.

And, finally, why can't more punk rock bands make mariachi music, even if they'd probably be nowhere as good at it as the Bronx?
