The Georgia Straight presents the Pixies at the Orpheum

Live Nation has announced that American alt-rock band the Pixies will play the Orpheum Theatre on February 17, 2014.

The Pixies—consisting of Black Francis (guitar, vocals), Joey Santiago (guitar), David Lovering (drums), and touring bassist Kim Shattuck—is on the road in support of its first collection of new music in more than 20 years.

EP-1, the group's new four-track release, opens with the melancholy, surrealistic sci-fi ballad “Andro Queen," now available at pixiesmusic.com

Tickets for the all-ages show are priced at $45.50, $59.50, and $79.50 (plus service charges and fees), and go on sale this Friday (October 11) at 10 a.m.
