      FRIDAY, JULY 31

      STICKY: Blueprint Live presents Australian reggae-fusion/indie-rock band Sticky Fingers (above) at Fortune Sound Club.

      SMALL: Schlonk, Trailer Trash Hero and the Beer Banditos, and the Tall Brothers perform at the Dan Small Memorial Concert at LanaLou's.

      SHAKEY: the Bernard Shakey Film Retrospective: Neil Young On Screen (above) opens at the Cinematheque.

      SIXMA: Dutch DJ Mark Sixma performs at Venue, with guests Johnny Jover and BVH.

      SATURDAY, AUGUST 1

      SWIFT: American pop superstar Taylor Swift (above) performs at B.C. Place on her 1989 Tour, with guests Vance Joy and Shawn Mendes.

      SHOREFEST: Paul Pigat, Wes Mackey, Chin Injeti, Colleen Rennison (above), Daniel Wesley, Kuba Oms, and Chilliwack perform live at English Bay and Sunset Beach in conjunction with the Celebration of Light.

      SPECTACLE: the third and final fireworks show of the 2015 Celebration of Light (above) features a pyrotechnics team from Canada.

      SUMO & SAKURA: the 39th annual Powell Street Festival celebrates Japanese-Canadian arts, culture, and heritage at Oppenheimer Park.

      SIDE-SPLITTING: the Vancouver Pride Society presents comedy at the Vogue Theatre by Elvira Kurt, Darcy Michael, Queer Prov, and Symone Says.

      SUNDAY, AUGUST 2

      SOUL: Oakland soul–R&B artist Kehlani (above) plays Alexander, touring in support of latest release You Should Be Here, with guest Pell.

      SHOW OF PRIDE: the 37th annual Vancouver Pride Parade features floats, community groups, and grand marshalls Roan Reimer, Michelle Fortin, and Romi Chandra Herbert.

      SONS OF ANARCHY: speaking event at the Railway Club features presentations by activists Marc Emery (above), Walter Block, and Victor Pross, with Q&A to follow.

      SALSA: Sunday Afternoon Salsa (above) at Robson Square featuresa salsa-dance lesson (3 pm) and dance shows (5 pm).  

      SWING: the Vancouver Swing Society presents drop-in beginner lessons and social dancing at Yaletown Park.

      SUCCULENT: the Food Cart Fest (above) at 215 W. 1st features dozens of food trucks, as well as DJs, ping pong, markets, a kids' area, and a summer patio.
