Taylor Swift shaken as fan lunges at stage in Edmonton

Vancouver has long been famous as a town full of concert cretins. Remember when Nick Cave walked off the stage at Lollapalooza ’94 after being hit by a pack of cigarettes?

Oasis pulled the plug in 1996 after Liam Gallagher was pelted with a shoe.

Interpol's first visit to Vancouver was marked by someone stealing their guitars, and a jackass later leaping out of the audience to rip a cigarette out of bassist Carlos D's mouth.

And Titus Andronicus could be forgiven for never coming back to the West Coast after someone clambered onstage at the Cobalt a couple years back and ripped down their American flag.

As bad as we can be, at least we know enough to treat Taylor Swift with respect. The same can’t be said of the concertgoers of Edmonton.

An Instagram user known as allenavw has posted footage of a near-miss at Tay Tay’s August 4 performance at Rexall Centre.

The 25-year-old singer was midsong in “Bad Blood” when a fan lunged at the stage and almost got hold of her leg.

Swift is visibly shaken for a second but then resumes singing.

The most famous woman in pop played Vancouver on August 1 as part of her 1989 World Tour (read the review here). Thankfully, Lotuslanders managed to keep their hands to themselves for the duration of her performance.

They also refrained from throwing shoes and cigarette packs, stealing smokes from her mouth, and ripping down the American flag.
