New Westminster storefronts decked out in anticipation of Saturday's Pride street party

      In preparation for New West Pride Society's annual street party this Saturday (August 15), creative store owners around the city have dressed their front windows in support of the LGBT community.

      This year's judging panel includes New West Pride Society presdient Jeremy Perry, Mayor Jonathan Cote, New West Pride founder Vance McFadyen, New West Pride member Michele Poitras, and Chamber of Commerce executive director Cori Lynn Germiquet. The winner will be announced at 5 p.m. at the street party's H.I.M stage (located at the corner of Columbia and Begbie Street).

      The year's street party will fill Columbia Street with a number of attractions, including beer gardens, food trucks, and more.

      The headlining musical act will be local favourite Bif Naked. Other acts will include Los Furious and I Am Mandrake.
