"Stop Harper" signs pose risk to drivers, Prince Rupert official says

Stop signs altered to read "Stop Harper" are ubiquitous in East Vancouver.

Indeed, "Stop Harper" stickers have popped up on traffic signs across the country.

One northwestern B.C. municipality is working hard to remove these stickers pasted in protest of Stephen Harper's Conservative government.

The City of Prince Rupert has reportedly replaced half a dozen stop signs at a cost of $53.30 each and has cleaned others.

"They are obstructing the signs or affecting the coating that is on there to make it less reflective and they are not as effective for drivers," Garin Gardiner, operations manager for the city, told CBC's Daybreak North.

CBC also quoted Prince Rupert councillor Wade Niesh as saying: "It's not the right way to display somebody's message. It's costing the tax payers money to remove these and change them out."

If you don't feel the same way as these Prince Rupert officials, you can order 70 "Stop Harper" stickers for $50 on StopHarperStickers.com.

Why is the Georgia Straight promoting minor vandalism to city property?

Because scientists shouldn't be muzzled as a matter of course.
Because Canadians shouldn't be(illegally) deported to Somalia.
Because "Big Oil" is not really your friend.
Because politically active GRANDPARENTS do not deserve to be spied upon.
Because your religious and cultural affiliations should be a non-issue, not grounds for blacklisting.

After what happened regarding the Aboriginal residential schools and the Ministry of Children and Family Development I don't believe Harper is sorry about anything he must be stopped!!
