Kanye West cancels Vancouver show, promises October 31 make-up date

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Here's the bad news folks: Kanye West has cancelled his show tonight at Rogers Arena. So if you are about to fire up that special roaster you've been saving since you bought tickets for the rapper's Vancouver appearance earlier this summer, time to put the Zippo away, get off the Skytrain, and get home in time to watch tonight's episode of The Walking Dead.

The good news is that the show has been rescheduled for Halloween night at Rogers, which means that, should someone laugh at your best attempts to look gangsta for the concert, you can save some dignity by pretending it's a costume.

Rumour has it that West will also be performing a special set on the October 31 make-good show, with songs scheduled to include "Halloween" by the Dead Kennedys, "Halloween" by Siouxie and the Banshees, "It's Halloween" by the Shaggs, and "Everyday is Halloween" by Ministry. And that's just the first four numbers.

Fans are asked to retain their tickets from the initially scheduled show, as they will be honoured for the rescheduled date of October 31st.

Also October 31: Earl Sweatshirt at the Vogue. The contrast couldn't be richer.

It's Kim's birthday today, maybe that had some thing to do with it.

So I checked out some youtube for his show in Seattle at the Key arena.
Vancouver is not missing anything. It's pretentious, boring, spectacle.
Save your money for a new DS game kiddies. You'll get more out of it.
Or go when he comes on Halloween and stretch your brains.

People relax.- Seattle show was a win! Kanye had a great 1st performance of Tour. The show ended at 1:30am, witch meant his crew had to take apart/store the stage parts on to trucks. Took longer than expected. Then.... US/CAN border patrol decided to hold up the entire 16 or so semi trucks because of the piro-tech equipment they had. So with all of that work, could not set up stage in time for the show. It takes 10-12 hours for them to do this. Vancouver fans! Oct. 31st will be amazing, I'm sorry for this to happen, but hey- Things happen!

@ pboogie, Kayne the ego insulted his fans by not showing up on stage until 11pm in Seattle. The border people had nothing to do with his delay. If you really want to know what happened, read the article in today's (Tues) Vancouver Sun. His massive ego and his disrespect for his fans plus his greed is the real cause behind the cancellation. You don't plan a show that size and think you can run it like a vogue theatre show. Overnighting a 22 truck show with an international border crossing into a poorly designed arena (Rogers due to no loading docks)while simultaneously telling your fans to kiss your *ss by showing up at 11pm reeks of greed, stupidity and disrespect. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Seattle was also the first show, so something of this size needs a few weeks to iron out the wrinkles. I worked the Pink show on Monday and they followed The Ego into Seattle arena (another poorly designed arena, but it's just old). The Pink crew said The Ego's show was still loading out at 9am. While his crew was working their asses off, The Ego was no doubt resting comfortably in his bed at the Four Season's. If you want to place the blame, don't blame the border people, don't blame the crew, blame the guy who takes all the money. And if you plan on going to his show on Halloween, I hope you don't have anything to do the next morning as I'm sure he has no respect for Canadians either. I've been in the rock and roll industry for over 25 years, and I know bullsh*t when I smell it.

Save your money & go see a gig at The Fortune Sound Club some evening, the music is much better there anyways.
