3:01 Pick Me Up: Anya Marina

    1 of 2 2 of 2

Let’s face it: 3 p.m. is the cruellest time of the workday. The morning latte has worn off, and the post-lunch crash has you staggering around like an extra from a George A. Romero flick. That’s why, each weekday at 3:01 p.m., we present you with a video hand-picked to kick-start your heart.

Today’s offering: Anya Marina was born in the mid '70s, but here's wagering a Old Fashioned that she sometimes has a thing for the past. The video for "All the Same To Me" sounds haunted by ghosts of the Cotton Club, and looks more retro than the Overlook Hotel photo at the end of The Shining.

Grabe the sugar cube, Angostura bitters, club soda, and rhye whiskey, and then shake with ice. Then fire up a Virginia Slim, sit back, and let yourself get whisked back a time when speakeasies were even cooler than the Waldorf Hotel during the Blue Lizard years.
