The Dance Centre presents Liquid Loft in Running Sushi at the Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street) October 31 to November 2 at 8 p.m.

Liquid Loft, a Vienna-based cutting-edge dance company, will bring Running Sushi to Vancouver as part of the Dance Centre’s Global Dance Connection series. The satirical commentary on the shallowness of modern consumer culture is performed by dancers Jonny Schoofs and Calgary-native Stephanie Cumming.

The performance includes a series of episodes, and at the start of each episode, audience members are invited to randomly select the order of the segments. Text, sound, and movement combine to create a highly original exposé of superficiality in contemporary culture.

Running Sushi was created, directed, and choreographed by Austrian choreographer Chris Haring. The work has previously been performed in Halifax, Montreal, and Calgary.
